So we are approaching that time of year when the kids are getting ready for school. The boys are going to pre-k and our oldest is going to middle school. They have their book bags, school gear and new clothes ready to go which is an exciting time. It might be an emotional time for my wife seeing the twins go off to school since they are always with her all day long while she works from home. There’s a few things that I want to mention that I will do, I don’t want to tell anyone they have to do the same but maybe it can create awareness.
I’m all about taking pictures of the kids for their first day of school. I think it’s awesome especially when they get older they can look back and see themselves growing up. I won’t post on the internet their full name, age, school, grade and teacher. During these times there are way too many kidnappings going on and to think someone is not watching or stalking your family to take your child is a very naive way of thinking. To protect them I will just mention their first day of school and that’s it, because even if you have your social media private it doesn’t mean someone you know wouldn’t try something. There are a good amount of kidnappings that happen by family or people you may know so you gotta ask yourself is it worth the risk?
Aside from being protective you want them to have a great year and something that I always heard was to put goals in writing. There have been parents that wrote down on paper that their child will improve in certain subjects that they struggled in previous years. By the winter they saw drastic improvements especially when you tell your child to speak those words of affirmation over themselves. You obviously want to help them in the area where they are struggling by doing everything but with them getting into the practice of believing the words they are speaking over their lives will drastically improve things. So this year I want to apply this method especially for my daughter because math isn’t her strong suit and I strongly believe that she will improve.
This concludes my rant of the first day of school for my kids and hopefully all kids country wide will have a good year and may they be safe and protected.
